Dr. Samantha Love’s journey into optometry began with an eye injury at the age of 16. After receiving a mild eye injury at age 16, Dr. Love’s passion for vision care was ignited and she began to explore Optometry as a future career path. This pivotal moment set her on a path of academic excellence and community service that has defined her career.Dr. Love's professional affiliations include the National Optometric Association (NOA), the American Optometric Association (AOA), the Florida Optometric Association (FOA), and the Central Florida Society of Optometric Physicians (CFSOP). In addition, Dr. Love’s dedication to mentoring aspiring healthcare professionals is evidenced by her role as an internship preceptor for high school and university programs.

Experience

After earning her B.S. in Microbiology from Southern University in Baton Rouge, LA, Dr. Love pursue her dream of becoming an optometrist. She obtained a doctor of optometry degree from the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago, IL in 2005. Throughout her academic journey, Dr. Love distinguished herself as a leader, serving in various roles including Illinois College of Optometry Alumni Council, Magruder Laser Advisory Council, Scholarship committee and as a member of multiple professional organizations.

Philosophy

Dr. Love’s professional journey has been shaped by extensive externship experiences, providing her with a wealth of knowledge in practicing full-scope optometry, with an emphasis on contact lenses, myopia management, and dry eye disease.

Interests

Committed to giving back to her community, Dr. Love actively participates in vision screenings, food drives, and church activities. Outside of the clinic, she enjoys spending quality time with her family and exploring new destinations through travel.

Dr. Angela Washington's journey into optometry was sparked by her early experiences in her uncle's clinic in Bradenton, Florida, where she discovered her passion for helping others through vision care. Graduating with honors from Florida State University and earning her doctorate from Nova Southeastern University College of Optometry, Dr. Washington's commitment to excellence in eyecare is evident in both her academic achievements and her practical experiences.

Beyond her impressive educational background, Dr. Washington's dedication to community outreach shines through her involvement in providing vision screenings and participating in mission trips to Jamaica and Nicaragua. Her extensive externship experiences, including stints at the Orlando VA Hospital and Manatee Country Rural Health Clinics, have equipped her with a diverse skill set in practicing full-scope optometry across different healthcare settings.

Since embarking on her professional journey in 2015, Dr. Washington has honed her expertise in specialty contact lenses, glaucoma management, and myopia control. Her commitment to ongoing education and innovation ensures that her patients receive the highest standard of care.

Outside of her practice, Dr. Washington finds joy in exploring nearby beaches, attending sporting events, and embarking on adventures with her family. She also values self-care and cherishes moments spent with her husband and daughters.
